Happy Spring, Sweet Readers! I wanted to share my latest (in what has unfortunately become a rare experience these days) baking adventure. You have seen these here many many times in many forms, but I just loved the color of these little cupcake truffles (AKA cake pops). They are red velvet with some yummy vanilla cream cheese frosting. I just love the way the pink and purple go so well with the jewel tone sprinkles. They make me smile. Hope they do the same for you!

Boxed Gift Truffles for a Friend
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. It has spiked to 104 degrees here in Sacramento! Hot!
Here are some cupcake truffles I made for a friend's birthday awhile back. I posted some pics of them out of the box before, but I wanted to share these all packaged up. This is something I would really like to get as a gift, so I hope she did, too!

Chocolate Easter Bunny Experiment
Ok, Sweet Readers..so this is a bit strange...this bunny DID NOT look this scary and weird in real life. I promise. Believe me. In the photo, I think it truly looks rather evil. Scary. It was actually a lovely chocolate cake very heavily coated in ganache. There were three egg cakes and chocolate truffles with candy coating as embellishments...made for my women's bible study Friday morning.
Problem was, the cute bunny had so many niches and nooks and crannies that my method of pouring the ganache over the top of it just didn't work. So I had to keep pouring..and pouring..and pouring. It's three dimensional for goodness sake - cut me some slack! So it got a little out of hand. But heck, out of hand and into the mouth tasted pretty darn good! Kinda like when my high hat cupcakes became low hats--tada! Extra Chocolate is always good :) Anyhow, in real life, it wasn't this scary and even though the base was only about 2 1/2 inches wide, I actually made it to church without it falling over. I'm an amazing driver :O
So there ya go. I love the pan (thanks Mikela, for the gift!), and I will try again soon. If you have any hot tips on getting the coating down both sides of the bunny at the same time without getting fingerprints on it or messing up one side or the other, do tell. I would love your advice :)
Have a sweet weekend!

Cupcake Truffles and a Cupcake Tasting Party!
Thanks for all the kind comments on my blog and FB. You guys are the best and I love sharing my sweet with you. Thanks for coming back and checking in, too. I anticipate you coming and hope to share something new with you each week.
Today I made so many cupcakes that my family and I had to have a "cupcake tasting party" after dinner. When I told my youngest son what we were going to do, he thought I was having a party with my girlfriends. He was thrilled that he got to participate himself. It was fun. We split five different cupcakes and voted for our favorites. Seems my family really has an opinion after all the cupcakes they have tried :) Anyhow, you should try it sometime. Quite the treat...
The photo is of some cupcake truffles that I made for an order for a dear friend. Some were red velvet and some were dark chocolate. If you haven't tried one of these small treasures, you should. They are small, but delicious!!
I don't want to bore you with more Valentine's Day themed goodies, but I have many and just want to share! Stay tuned..hopefully I can get through them before St. Patrick's day because I have some fun planned for that, too :)

Spouse-ology Cupcake Truffles
So tomorrow night, our marriage group at church is having a game night. We will be playing the game "Spouse-ology" which is loads of fun. I, shockingly, signed up to bring dessert, and went through a few different options until I came to this one. These are dark chocolate cupcake truffles in "Spouse-ology" colors. (funny, as I type this, our UPS guy is delivering the fourth game we needed!)
Though they are small, these beauties pack a punch. They are deliciously decadent!
The little hearts on top are for all the wonderful married couples coming to share a date night together!
Hope you have a sweet weekend! :)
