Tiered and Fanciful

Hi Sweet Readers!

Here is another mini tiered cake I made. This was actually my first one. The layers are orange cake and chocolate butter cake, with varying layers of lemon and vanilla buttercream. Hope you like it!

Next week I will be very busy making my nephew's 1st bday cake and cuppies and a few cookie orders. I hope to share them with you soon!

Have a great weekend!

Duckies In a Bathtub Birthday Theme

Hello Sweet Readers! I hope you have had a great week! I get back today from vacation and I know that I will be dying to bake! Until then, here are some photos of some birthday cupcakes, a cupcake cake and some cupcake truffles I made for a good friend's son's 1st birthday.
Her son loves little duckies, so she asked for a variety of sweet treats for his party. I made the toppers for the vanilla cupcakes from fondant and accented the little eye with edible pen.
Here is the cupcake cake. I did the accents in fondant and M&Ms. The cake was chocolate with vanilla italian meringue buttercream and filling.
And I made some little ducky cupcake truffles as a little treat for them to go along with the theme.

Happy Mother's Day !

Hi Sweet Readers! I know many of you are mothers and so I wanted to send you these cupcake flowers to wish you a very special Mother's Day! It contains 36 mini cupcakes and oh, just a tad of frosting. I hope it makes you smile. :) I made it for a client yesterday and she gets to give it to her mom, but since I took a picture, I'm also giving it to you!

I don't get to see my mom today but I will get to next week. I so look forward to that time. I have a wonderful mother and I am blessed beyond measure. I am also blessed with a great mother-in-law. The best of both worlds.
And here is the "mother" of this blog with her wonderful boys. We just had a little escape to SF this weekend and had some great adventures together. (btw, I have bakery reviews to come :)

These boys are the best and challenge me daily to be a better mom. I hope I can follow the examples set before me and show them what amazing treasures they are.

Have a great day sweet readers!

Sage's Birthday Cupcake Cake

Hi Sweet Readers! Well, did you guess what the last post was? I know Kristin did :) It was the bottom of a giant cupcake birthday cake covered in creamy wonderful dark chocolate ganache! I cannot bear to leave the bottom of that cupcake cake bare without frosting, so I found that this is a great and very tasty way to cover it.
I made this cake for a 1st birthday celebration for a beautiful, beautiful little girl named Sage. She also got some cupcakes to match that I will share in a later post...
I did her name, the butterflies, flower and leaves using the melted chocolate method. I love the way it is beautiful and yet a little bit youthful at the same time. Perfect for sweet Sage!
I hope she and her family enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed making and decorating it!
Have a sweet day!
